Jumpboard: Power, Flow, and Creative Class Design is a continuing education workshop created for Pilates instructors who want to elevate their jumpboard programming beyond conditioning and into intelligent, well-structured class design. This workshop takes place on Saturday, March 28 from 12:00–3:00 PM and is offered both in person and virtually, allowing instructors to participate in the format that best fits their schedule and teaching environment.
The jumpboard is often associated with cardio bursts or isolated power work, but its true value lies in how seamlessly it can be integrated into a full, cohesive reformer class. This workshop blends classical Pilates foundations with contemporary, athletic jumpboard sequencing, showing instructors how to use the jumpboard in ways that feel purposeful, fluid, and accessible for a wide range of clients. The focus is not on adding intensity for its own sake, but on building strength, coordination, control, and confidence through thoughtful progression.
Participants will learn how to craft jump sequences that build power safely while maintaining precision and flow. The training explores how to reimagine traditional reformer movements for the jumpboard, introduce creative variations, and design balanced programming that keeps classes energized without becoming chaotic or fatiguing. Emphasis is placed on pacing, transitions, and strategic shifts in challenge so jumpboard work feels integrated rather than disruptive to the class experience.
A key outcome of this workshop is giving instructors a clear framework for incorporating jumpboard work into complete class formats. Rather than treating the jumpboard as a short add-on, attendees will learn how to layer jumps into warm-ups, peak sequences, and finishers in a way that supports movement continuity and client success. This approach allows instructors to confidently teach jumpboard classes to mixed-level groups while maintaining safety and intention.
Attendees will receive a comprehensive PDF guide that includes key jumpboard positions, jump variations, and sample sequences. These resources are designed to be immediately usable in both group and private sessions, helping instructors translate the material directly into their teaching. The workshop also provides practical tools for layering progressions and regressions, making it easier to meet clients where they are while still offering meaningful challenge.
For those attending in person, the workshop will be held at Pilates of Charleston, offering hands-on experience with real-time feedback and collaboration. The virtual option, hosted live on Zoom, delivers the same sequencing concepts, class frameworks, and creative strategies, making it an effective option for instructors teaching remotely or outside the Charleston area.
Two event options are currently available for registration. The in-person workshop at Pilates of Charleston is open at a rate of $99. The virtual workshop is also open for registration, with details available through the event listing. Both formats provide the full three-hour training and access to workshop materials.
Jumpboard: Power, Flow, and Creative Class Design is ideal for instructors who want to move past repetitive jump patterns and develop classes that feel intentional, dynamic, and satisfying to teach. Whether you join in person or online, this workshop offers a fresh perspective on jumpboard work and practical tools to immediately enhance your reformer programming.
