This online workshop is designed for Pilates instructors who want to feel more confident working with pregnant clients on the Reformer. We will cover key considerations for prenatal movement, including anatomical changes during pregnancy, how those changes can affect exercise selection, and how to thoughtfully modify reformer work as pregnancy progresses.
The workshop will cover how to approach abdominal work during pregnancy, including what to be mindful of with diastasis recti, abdominal pressure, coning, and exercise selection. Instructors will also learn what exercises and positions may need to be avoided or adjusted, how to create supportive Reformer modifications, and how to incorporate pregnancy-specific exercises that help clients continue moving with strength, control, and confidence.
This is not a prenatal certification. Instead, this workshop is intended to offer practical guidance, education, and a clearer framework for instructors who want a better understanding of how to work with prenatal clients, what to modify, what to avoid, and how to make informed programming choices while respecting each client’s individual needs, stage of pregnancy, and guidance from their healthcare provider.
